Log line

Oral is a dramedy about Izzy, a “not deaf enough” millennial, who is navigating adulthood and a chaotic love life, all while learning to embrace her disability in 2007 Los Angeles.

Show concept

She’s deaf and, tragically, she’s a millennial. Izzy is determined to prove herself in big ways by becoming an Impressive AdultTM. With Cochlear Implants, she doesn’t fit into the Deaf world, but the hearing world isn’t always accessible to her either.


Irony abounds when Izzy starts a career in the music industry. She makes music videos while catering to the whims of wannabe pop stars and their helicopter parents.


Oral is the tale of a deaf woman with digital ears and a unique voice. 

Virtual Debut

 

In 2021, Alexandra and Adrienne produced a virtual performance of Oral’s pilot, “Impressive Adult,” featuring an all-star cast that included Andrea Martin, Abbi Jacobson, Will Forte, David Krumholtz, and other phenomenal actors.
